WeingART WORKs is a specialized art program offering growth opportunities for artistic clients of Weingart Center, a 501(c)(3) homeless service nonprofit headquartered in downtown Los Angeles. The program provides communal studio space, quality art instruction, artist promotion, and various artist-focused services and events.

Our talented clients are empowered to tap into their creativity, overcome daily challenges, and integrate into the community while developing valuable skills.

Your next great art purchase is here.

Here’s why WeingART WORKs.

WeingART WORKs is more than just an arts program; it's a catalyst for personal growth and community integration. Our talented clients are encouraged to tap into their creativity, develop valuable skills, and overcome daily challenges through artistic expression.

Communal Studio Space: Artistic expression and self-exploration fill the walls of our nicely outfitted studio space

Art Workshops: Designed for a variety of skill levels, our workshops are great for art hobbyists and serious art students alike

Art Classes: From learning basic techniques to advanced methods, our more dedicated artists benefit from tailored art instruction classes, which are designed to help students improve their craft

Art-related Social Events: It can't be all work and no play, right? That's where our art-related social events come in. From museum outings to art movie night, our artists can enjoy the best of both worlds

Career Support: We assist artists in building portfolios, understanding the art market, and exploring potential career paths

Community Engagement: Through exhibitions, art fairs, guest speakers, and collaborative projects, we connect our artists with the greater Los Angeles art community

Therapeutic Benefits: Art-making serves as a powerful tool for self-expression, stress relief, and personal growth for our participants

Cultural Enrichment: We organize field trips to museums, galleries, and cultural events to broaden artistic perspectives

This month’s featured artist.

Gregory Park

Greg first came to Weingart Center via our interim housing programs. Today, he is a resident at Weingart Tower, Weingart Center’s permanent supportive housing development in downtown Los Angeles.

Greg is a talented artist and enjoys taking part in WeingART WORKs. Greg creates great works of art in a variety of mediums — from acrylics on canvas to fabric paintings to illustration works. Greg’s work is often freeform and is just as vivid as his bubbly personality.

“The art room is spectacular. I enjoy the time I'm here because it's a breath of fresh air. It's very pleasant that I have a comfortable and calming environment to execute my craft."
